Dog Calming includes a range of only natural ingredients. Taurine, Inositol, 5-HTP (5-Hydroxytryptophan), L-Theanine, Thiamine (Vitamin B1), Ginger Extract and Magnesium these natural ingredients are combined to individually effect and boost serotonin levels and inhibit the neurological processes that result in anxiety or stress.

Taurine has the chemical name of 2-aminoethanesulfonic acids and is one of the most abundantly distributed organic acids in human and animal tissues. It is a major component of bile and is found in the large intestines, accounting for 0.1% of total human body weight. It is useful in a number of different biological and physiological roles and processes including conjugation of bile acids, anti-oxidation, and membrane stabilisation. It is also used in the modulation of calcium signalling and essential for cardiovascular function, the development and function of skeletal muscles, the retina, and the nervous system. Although this supplement is technically not an amino acid since it lacks the normal carboxyl group, it is a derivative of the amino acid cysteine. It is also one of the few known naturally occurring sulfonic acids and was first isolated from ox bile in 1827 by German scientists. Taurine is found in a number of food sources such as egg yolks and meat. Many vegetarians are often low in this supplement since it is normally found in animal protein and not in vegetables. As a GABAergic compound, Taurine can inhibit the neurological processes that result in anxiety or stress. It has also been observed to lower cortisol levels. This might also explain whyTaurine is so often consumed with caffeine, so as to offset some of the negative side effects like nervousness and restlessness.

HTP – 5 5-HTP is a Serotonin-boosting supplement that is used for the treatment of depression, anxiety, fibromyalgia, migraines, and insomnia. It is also used as a weight loss aid in human grade supplements. Also known as 5-Hydroxytryptophan, Oxitriptan, or L-5-HTP, this naturally occurring compound is typically included in supplements to boost mood and alleviate stress. Users take 5-HTP to promote relaxation, enhance focus, improve sleep quality, and for anxiety and depression. Serotonin is the primary neurotransmitter associated with mood regulation. 5-HTP is the natural precursor that the body uses to make Serotonin. 5-HTP and is also related to the hormone Melatonin and may contribute to restful sleep.

Inositol is a brain supplement from the B-family of vitamins, sometimes called vitamin B8. This natural nootropic compound is found in a number of foods such as grains, nuts, beans, and fruits. It is also produced by the human body and was originally discovered as a component of human spinal fluid. Humans consume about a gram of Inositol each day and the kidneys make about another 2 grams. There are a number of brain benefits from taking Inositol supplements, including improved mood, more focus and better thought processing. This naturally occurring chemical is also implicated in many other physiological functions and plays a vital role in the firing of your neurons. It can be used to reduce symptoms of depression, lessen the effects of anxiety and boost mental productivity.

L-Theanine is a naturally occurring amino acid that has been shown in some studies to improve energy levels and reduce stress. Its effects have been backed up by thousands of years of use in Chinese medicine as well as extensive recent scientific and clinical studies. This natural nootropic was first isolated from Green Tea in 1949. Since then, it has been researched for its ability to support brain health and enhance focus. L-Theanine’s cognitive effects are most apparent when combined with caffeine, either in a nootropic stack or found together naturally in Green tea. The two work synergistically: caffeine increases your level of alertness, while Theanine may reduce some of the anxiety and nervousness that can occur when using stimulants.

Magnesium (MG) is a chemical element and alkaline earth metal, making up 13% of the mass of the planet. Magnesium is also found in every cell the human body. In fact, it is the eleventh most abundant element by mass and its ions are essential to all living cells. You may not think of Magnesium as a nootropic, but scientists at MIT recently discovered a link between brain magnesium levels and cognitive function. Increasing magnesium can enhance working memory, facilitate synaptic plasticity, boost long-term memory formation and improve learning. Magnesium is also useful in a nootropic stack as it can prevent excitotoxicity, which may occur when neurons are over-stimulated. If you are feeling agitated, restless or anxious when using Nootropic, adding a Magnesium supplement can improve your results. This supplement plays a major role in manipulating important biological compounds like ATP, DNA, and RNA. Hundreds of enzymes require Magnesium ions in order to function Thaimine (also called Vitamin B1) is a vital human nutrient that belongs to the Vitamin B – complex. It plays an important role in maintaining a healthy nervous system and improving the cardiovascular functioning of the body. Vitamin B1 is one of the eight water-soluble vitamins in the B complex family. It helps in the conversion of carbohydrates into glucose, which in turn is used to produce energy for carrying out various bodily functions. Vitamin B1 is also required for the breakdown of fats and protein. In addition to these health benefits, it maintains the muscle tone along the walls of the digestive tract and promotes the health of the nervous system, skin hair, eyes, mouth, and liver. It also improves the body’s ability to withstand stress and is often called the “anti-stress” vitamin.

Ginger Extract has a long history of use for relieving digestive problems such as nausea, loss of appetite, motion sickness and pain and binds to serotonin receptors and is known to helps alleviate anxiety.
