Terms & Conditions of Trading & Service for Pet Grooming This contract is binding for the current groom and or any other pet care services provided on this date and any future groom dates. Prices and fees are subject to change without notice and estimates for services can only be confirmed after examination of the pet on arrival and in some cases after washing or grooming has begun. I hereby agree to the following as owner/ (or owners representative) of the pet/s. Pets will only be accepted for grooming after the Owner (or other responsible person) has filled in and signed our pet registration form. You will be asked to sign the pet registration form when you bring your pet in for your first grooming appointment. By signing the form or booking by phone or online you are deemed to have read and accepted these Terms and Conditions. Your contact details must include an emergency telephone number where you or a responsible person nominated by you can be contacted during the period of the service and until your pet is collected or delivered. Should we not be able to contact you during the grooming process, any additional charges relating to your pet’s condition or behaviour that may become necessary will be charged at the time of collection. CCCGS will only accept animals that are fit and healthy. Any grooming, which takes place on, an elderly animal or animal with health problem will be at the owner’s risk. Grooming may expose pre-existing health/skin problems for which CCCGS cannot be held liable. Your pet should be vaccinated up to date. Any unvaccinated animal puts itself and others at risk.

We do not advise grooming bitches in season. Please re book should your dog come into season prior to your appointment. We reserve the right to cancel your groom and charge the full fee if we discover your dog is in season and/or make an extra charge for sanitary materials and cleaning labour. CCCGS will make every effort to keep your pet safe and secure. There is always the possibility an accident could occur. Grooming equipment is very sharp, even though we use extreme caution and care in all situations, possible problems could occur including cuts, nicks, scratches, cutting of nails, etc. In most cases this can happen when a pet is wriggling or moving around.

Owners accept that by using our grooming service it is completely at there own risk and in the event of any accident/ injury to their pet or health concern, under the Animal Welfare Act 2006 we are authorised to contact a veterinarian of our choice unless one had been stipulated and authorise the vet to treat the pet as necessary. The pet owner is to pay all expenses and any future expenses relating to the injury or health problem and does not hold CCCGS its owner full time / part time staff or work experience / volunteers responsible.

Please note that we cannot be held responsible for you not liking the end grooming process. During the initial consultation we will work hard to understand your end goal for the grooming of your pet. The grooming process will vary from groomer to groomer and no one groomer is alike in the way they style a pet. We are a pet grooming salon and do not do show or breed standard cuts or style to show or breed standard.

Cat Grooming – We do not offer cat styling the only clipping/scissoring we will ever complete is to remove matted fur. Owners MUST inform CCCGS if your pet(s) bite, has bitten, or is aggressive to people, other pets or specific grooming procedures. Muzzles may be used if necessary. Muzzling will not harm your pet, and protects both the pet and the groomer. CCCGS reserves the right to refuse/stop services for such pet(s) at any time before or during the grooming process, and to charge a handling fee for Aggressive Dogs in addition to the regular grooming charge. If the pet should bite, or cause material damage to staff, visitors or other customers, person or property the owner agrees to be responsible for any and all related medical bills, recovery costs, loss of income and equipment damage. The owner’s attention is drawn to the Dangerous Dogs Act 1971 section 3. Grooming procedures can sometimes be stressful, especially for a senior or ill pet and can expose hidden medical problems or aggravate a current one during or after the groom. Because these pets have a greater chance of injury, these pets will be groomed for cleanliness and comfort. In the best interest of your pet by agreeing to your pet being groomed by CCCGS you give us permission to obtain immediate veterinary treatment for your pet should we deem necessary under our responsibility under the Animal Welfare Act 2006. We will do our best to contact you first and then take your pet to the closest Veterinarian for immediate treatment. It is agreed by the pet owner that the pet’s owner will cover all expenses for Veterinary care and any other reasonable costs incurred by CCCGS including the full cost of your appointment.

Pets with matted coats or sever matting will need extra attention during their grooming session. As matting is often difficult to access until the animal has been washed extra time/extra appointments and charging will apply. Owners will be informed by phone or text on the day. Mats left in a pet’s coat only grow tighter, and can strangle the pet’s skin, or eventually tear it open. CCCGS does not wish to cause serious or undue stress to your pet and will not continually de-mat your pet for you. Mats can be very difficult to remove, and may require the pet to be shaved. Any pet presented with a matted coat may be required to be shaved; removing a heavily matted coat includes risks of nicks, cuts or abrasions due to warts, moles or skin folds trapped in the mats. Heavy matting can also trap moisture and urine near the pet’s skin allowing mould, fungus or bacteria to grow, causing skin irritations that existed prior to the grooming process. Torn skin from mats can also harbour maggots. After effects of mat removal procedures can include itchiness, skin redness, self-inflicted irritations or abrasions and failure of the hair to re-grow. Shaved pets are also prone to sunburn and should be kept out of the sun until the hair grows sufficiently to protect the skin. In some cases pets may also exhibit brief behavioural changes. Prevention is the best defence against matting by scheduling regular grooming appointments.

The first grooming experience for an animal requires patience and understanding. More time may be necessary to work with younger pets, gradually adding steps to the grooming process on a regular basis will help to minimise any potential stress. Owners can help their pets accept grooming by regularly massaging pet’s paws as well as brushing & combing their coats. Frequent handling of paws can help pets better accept nail clipping or trimming around the paws. Every effort will be made to complete the service that has been booked but owners must accept that in come cases their pet may come out with a damp coat or less than perfect hairstyle. If you suspect your pet has fleas or ticks, prompt and thorough action on YOUR part will be needed. Flea infestations can lead to tapeworm and other health problems.

If fleas or ticks are found during the grooming process, your pet will receive a flea bath and treatment to kill the parasites and an extra charge will be applied. Ticks found will be removed and an additional charge may be applied. If ticks are found, we strongly suggest you have your pet tested for Lyme disease or other tick borne illnesses. Please note that parasites are a health hazard to your pet as well as to humans. CCCGS offers a flea and tick treatment service at extra cost. Should we remove ticks this will be at the owners risk we recommend thorough review by a vet. We operate an appointment booking system. We will accept bookings by phone, online via our web site, text or social media. We will confirm your appointment 2 -3 days prior to the appointment by text, email or phone. Full grooming depending on the size of dog and its condition normally requires between 2-3 hours. We allow 2 hours in most cases.

Please arrive ON TIME to your scheduled appointment. We understand there are emergency situations and will work with you, but not on a continued basis. Late arrivals may need to be re-scheduled in order that we can meet our obligations to other clients and CCCGS reserves the right to refuse your pet on this basis and you will be subject to a cancellation £15 fee per pet. Please be on time to pick-up your pet(s). We work by appointment only and do not have the staff or facilities for your pet to stay after the groom has been completed unless by prior agreement. To enforce this policy, a £10 kennel fee may be added to your invoice for each hour after the agreed collection time. Not with standing we may notify you during the groom that we require more time to complete the groom and will make every attempt to accommodate unforeseen delays in collection. Your pet may be caged for short periods during and after the groom but will always have access to fresh water.

Cancellations and No shows: last minute cancellations (less than 48hours’ notice) or continual re-scheduling may be subject to a FEE PER PET of the full grooming charge. Online booking requires a £10 booking deposit per pet. This is non-returnable for cancellations under 48 hours of the appointment date/time.

A new appointment can only be offered by a telephone booking during working hours and may require a full payment in advance. Prior to 48 hours we are happy to re schedule your appointment but you must cancel by telephone during opening hours. We cannot guarantee a new appointment within 2 weeks of your cancellation.
